With a lot of shows ending with season finales, the Suits premiere is coming at the right time.
Season six picks up immediately following Mike Ross’ plea deal. After signing a plea deal to spare his colleagues at Pearson Specter Litt, Mike will be confronted with the harsh realities of prison life as he starts his two-year sentence. Meanwhile, the once prestigious Pearson Specter Litt offices are a ghost town, the partners have defected, leaving Harvey, Jessica, Louis, Donna and Rachel to pick up the pieces.
WHAT’S NEW FOR SEASON 6:
USA Network has added many new actors to the Suits cast in Season 6.
Actors Erik Palladino, Paul Schulze and Malcolm-Jamal Warner have joined Suits to play Mike’s contacts in prison. Palladino will play Kevin Miller, Mike’s fellow inmate who he is not sure whether or not he can trust him or not. But, as they come to depend on one another, Kevin may become the closest thing Mike has to a friend behind bars.
Schulze will play Frank Gallo, an inmate hardened by his own time. Gallo is the first person to introduce Mike to life in Danbury Prison. Warner will play Counselor Julius Rowe, who is tasked with helping the inmates survive their time inside and putting them on the path of rehabilitation. In Mike’s case, this will require him admitting that he’s spent a lifetime cutting corners.
Carly Pope is set for a recurring role. Pope will play Tara Messer. When Louis reaches his wits’ end with Stu and the traders, he brings in Tara, a cultured and perspective commercial architect, to help partition them away.
Actor Gabriel Macht, who plays Harvey Specter spoke about Mike’s fate and Harvey’s relationship with colleague Louis Litt. Macht told Stuff.com: “It’s kind of amazing. I was really excited to see where it went because these guys always get out of everything right? They’re always winning, always just working their way out of the system, and their comeuppance has been interesting to see. This season picks up where the last one left off and Harvey’s conniving colleague Louis will get a work out as they try to pick up the pieces of the fallout. Yeah, it’s a love-hate relationship…. Harvey loves to hate him.”
“Both of them (Harvey and Louis) have as much anxiety as the other, you know. It’s just how each of them deals with it. In the last four or five episodes, their storylines were splintered out. This season there’s a big mess, the house of cards has fallen, so we’re going to see how they build Pearson Specter Litt back up. The first thing is to get Harvey and Louis back on track. I can’t give too much away about the first episode, but I’ll tell you this: if you can imagine these characters in a sort of Breakfast Club scenario, there’s some good hijinks.”
